1) Why we ask (and what you get if you accept)
- Faster & more stable: diagnostics help us fix issues and tune performance.
- More relevant features: understanding what’s used helps us prioritize improvements.
- Fewer prompts: we can remember non-essential preferences across visits.
What we won’t do: we won’t use optional cookies for personalized ads without consent; we won’t sell your data; we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) where applicable.
Your cookie selection does not authorize us or you to reuse third-party content, establish ownership of a person or account, or provide consent to biometric or face-matching processing.
2) What counts as “essential” vs “optional”
- Essential — security (CSRF, bot/rate-limit), session, language, consent storage.
- Analytics — usage stats/diagnostics (consent where required).
- Functional — non-critical UX preferences.
- Advertising & Measurement — frequency capping, reach/attribution, and (if consented) personalization.
Today: we do not run third-party advertising tags; we keep limited operational logs to run and secure the Service.
3) Legal frameworks (short version)
- EEA/UK: non-essential need prior consent; essential rely on legitimate interests.
- U.S. states: some ad/measurement may count as “sale/shared”; opt out via Do Not Sell/Share and GPC.
- Canada: meaningful consent for non-essential; essential are necessary.
4) Fingerprinting / device signals
We use limited device signals (IP, user-agent, request patterns; where permitted a short-lived device hash) only for security/abuse controls and rate-limiting — never for advertising. Where a region requires consent, we collect such signals only after consent or restrict to security-essential signals.
5) Your controls
- Preference Center: change choices any time: Open Cookie Preferences.
- Banner: first layer shows Accept all, Essential only, and Manage with equal prominence.
- Consent timing: non-essential don’t load until you consent; closing the banner alone doesn’t turn them on.
- GPC: honored as an opt-out of “sale/share” where applicable.
6) Who sets trackers
Trackers may be set by us and by partners for hosting/CDN/DDoS, consent management, analytics/measurement, advertising, error logging, and support tooling.
Advertising partners list will appear here if enabled.
7) Just-in-time prompts
Some features (e.g., embedded media) may ask for consent when you use them. You can allow just that feature or update all preferences.
8) Records, retention & changes
- Proof of consent: we log timestamp, selections, region, and banner version.
- Retention: consent logs kept long enough to demonstrate compliance (typically 24–36 months), then deleted or de-identified.
- Updates: we update this Notice when partners or purposes change and re-prompt where required.
